Participate in the 5th Annual Spirit of the Game Tournament and Fundraiser for Ultimate Peace and DiscAbilities!

SUNDAY, MARCH 29 at 11 AM in Central Park (East Meadow 97th at 5th Ave). The date has been set for the 5th Annual Spirit of the Game tournament in memory of our league founder, Amir Lopatin. This year we are running this special event as a fundraiser for a couple very deserving charities, DiscAbilities and Ultimate Peace.

Ultimate Peace, a unique project that we Amir would certainly have supported, In the words of their website: Ultimate Peace is a young organization, yet we have high hopes of spreading the joy of throwing a disc and playing ultimate on a global level, especially in areas where more understanding and cooperation are needed. Our first project is timely - we will begin our work in the Middle East in April of 2009, with aspirations of planting seeds of peace in that region and eventually around the world.Ultimate Peace

Discabilities mission is to capitalize on the accessible nature of disc activities as a therapeutic recreation for people with special needs, to provide, at no cost to participants, the apparatus, instruction and inspiration of DiscAbilities programs, to integrate able-bodied students as partners with disabled students, in the DiscAbilities discovery process.

Volunteers needed! If you would like to volunteer to help make this event the best it can be, please email us at spiritofthegame@nycpul.com

REGISTER NOW USING PAYPAL

The player fee/donation for this event is $25 however we left that field open on the Paypal registration form so you can consider donatiing at whatever level you can, hopefully more! We are in the process of creating a beautiful Ultimate Peace tee shirt based on the same design used for the disc.

SIGN A RELEASE WAIVER (REQUIRED)

I AM AN ADULT: In participating in this league I understand that Ultimate is an intense athletic activity that requires me to be in good physical condition and with it comes the risk of accidental physical injury. If I get hurt, I will not blame the organizers or the NYC Parks and Recreation Department. I am responsible for my own actions and promise not to break the law or NYC Parks Department rules while participating in this league. Most importantly, I will adhere to the ultimate creed Spirit of the Game, and understand I could be removed from the roster if I do not behave accordingly. Waitlist player fees are not refundable. I will provide a signed waiver before participating in this league. PRINT WAIVER
